The Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday 11 November will mark the accession of the new Lord Mayor, Alderman Charles Bowman. Through the good offices of our Alderman and Common Councilmen, members of the Club again have the opportunity this year to watch the Show from outside Guildhall and to have lunch afterwards in the dining room of the Guildhall Club on the third floor.

Guests will be able to access the members’ bar between 9:30 am and 10:30 am for tea and coffee and the bar for cash purchases from 12:00 noon. The dining room will open from 12:15 pm The luncheon will include a reception glass of sparkling wine and wine with each course. Click to see the menu.

The whole procession passes along Gresham Street in front of Guildhall from 10:45 am and there is usually good standing space near the south wall of the Church of St Lawrence Jewry. Here a senior Alderman salutes the floats as they pass and Aldermen and others mount their coaches and join the rear of the Show. It is hoped that it will be possible for attendees to have early access to Guildhall Yard to see the new Lord Mayor and his retinue enter their coaches from around 10:30 am and leave for Mansion House.

The Guildhall Club can only accommodate a limited number of people and will be fully booked on this day. The allocation to Bridge Ward Club is restricted to 30, so applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Members may be accompanied by one guest but additional guests can be requested and will be accepted if places are available. Badges will be provided and have to be worn while in Guildhall.

Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie.  The cost will be £48 per person.

This is now fully booked but you may ask to go on the waiting list.
