Join us on our latest expedition to explore one of the most important Roman archaeological sites in the UK – The Temple of Mithras.
The London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE houses the fascinating temple where Roman soldiers paid homage to the mysterious god, Mithras. When it was originally discovered in 1954, the temple attracted crowds of visitors to view this amazing find.
Today, the recently restored temple is stunningly displayed within the new Bloomberg complex, below street level just a few steps away from its original location on the bank of the Walbrook River.
We meet at 11:15 am on 11 October outside the entrance to Bloomberg SPACE opposite St Stephen Walbrook Church on Walbrook. There will be an introduction from a City of London Guide and then we will enter into the Bloomberg SPACE for our visit at 11:30 am.
The visit will take approximately an hour and a half and there is full disabled access.
