Chairman’s Charity Event 2017: A walk around Bridge Without
For the first time, there will be a Chairman’s charity for Bridge Ward Club. This is in addition to the various other charitable organisations that we are able to support each year.
As a sufferer of a form of Multiple Sclerosis, I am delighted to propose the MS Trust as my nominated charity. The 20in20 event held by the City of London Guide Lecturers’ Association earlier this year, highlighted the need for fundraising for research; and the full cost of £20 will be donated directly to the MS Trust. If you are unable to join the walk but would like to donate, that is also possible via the online booking form.
After the recent events on our Bridge we want to show support for the folk on the other side of London Bridge. So we have replaced the scheduled visit to Newmarket with this walk, which was deferred from earlier in the summer.
This is your opportunity for a 2 hour fascinating walking tour of “…Bridge Without” – now part of the borough of Southwark. The walk will discover hidden gems such as the galleried George Inn, the Hop Exchange, the graveyard of “Winchester Geese”, the new and old Globe theatres, the Golden Hinde and finish at Southwark Cathedral. There are two start times to suit everyone: 2:00 pm or 5:00 pm. So please do join us to explore the other side of the Bridge!
